The Analysis mode allows the user to confirm that the machine in question does indeed have a balance problem before attempting a correction for balancing. The Main Menu screen for the Model 258 offers several options – Balancing, Analysis, Bump Test, Help, and Instrument Setup.
The Model 258 instrument is built on a proven hardware platform It has two simultaneous vibration inputs and a reference input for speed and phase angle measurement. In addition to the internal memory storage space, the Model 258 uses an ATA FLASH memory card to store data. Based on a Windows CE ™ Operating system, the Model 258 instrument is easy to use and the need for training is minimized. Any set-up, weight, or run screen can be reviewed easily from any screen display. All instrument collection settings can be checked.
